Richard Hammond, Solicitor & Senior Counsel Partner at Hammond Good LLP
Richard, appointed as one of Ireland’s first Senior Counsel solicitors by the Government on September 1, 2020, practices as a partner at Hammond Good LLP, Solicitors & Notaries Public, in Mallow, County Cork. A dedicated succession law specialist with expertise in professional regulation, he provides consultancy on succession matters to other law firms and serves as Chairperson of the LEAP Irish Law Awards.
A former President of the Southern Law Association and current Council member of the Law Society of Ireland, he chairs the Society’s Practice Support & Communications Committee, and has previously led the Probate, Administration & Trusts Committee, Professional Indemnity Insurance Committee, and Gazette Editorial Board. He lectures extensively on Professional Practice Courses at the Law Society’s Law School, publishes widely, and speaks regularly at CPD events for Law Society training and local Bar Associations, while also having served as President of the Union of Students in Ireland.
