27 Years a running, a walking ……
The Calcutta Run – the Legal Fundraiser is delighted to be the LEAP Irish Law Awards 2025 charity partner.
To date, over the last 26 years, the legal profession through the Calcutta Run has raised €5,675,000 to alleviate homelessness both in Kolkata and in Ireland. This has helped countless homeless young people both at home and abroad through various charities such as our current beneficiaries and The Hope Foundation, The Simon Community and SHARE (Cork) and previously The Peter McVerry Trust and Goal.
The Calcutta Run initiative is much broader than a run and is a collective of initiatives and events organised by lawyers including a fun run/walk , tag rugby, golf classic, firm fundraising events (quizzes, coffee mornings etc.), and a monster BBQ. Previously it also included seven-a-side soccer, tennis, cycling etc.
The Calcutta Run is underpinned by the support of the Law Society of Ireland and its members.
Over 2,000 people took part in various events in 2024, including the run/walk (1100), tag rugby (500), golf (300) and volunteers (200), raising an incredible €325,000.
The target for 2025 is to raise €300,000. We need your help to achieve that!
