26 Years of running, walking….
The Calcutta Run – the Legal Fundraiser is delighted to be the ILA 2024 charity partner. To date, over the last 25 years, the legal profession through the Calcutta Run has raised €5,350,000 to alleviate homelessness both in Kolkata and in Ireland. This has helped countless homeless young people both at home and abroad through various charities.

The 2024 event beneficiaries are the Hope Foundation and the Dublin Simon Community.

The Calcutta Run initiative is much broader than a run and is a collective of initiatives and events organised by lawyers including a fun run/walk in Dublin, Cork and Galway, tag rugby, tennis, golf classic, firm fundraising events (quizzes, coffee mornings etc.), and a monster BBQ.

The Calcutta Run is underpinned by the support of the Law Society of Ireland and its members. Over 2,000 people took part in various events in 2023, including the run/walk (1,000), tag rugby (550), golf (250) and volunteers (200), raising an incredible €320,000. The target for 2024 is to raise €350,000. We need your help to achieve that! Please be uncomfortably generous in buying raffle tickets at ILA 2024!
